Our Heritage

Dracut Funeral Home was founded on the guiding principle and time-honored tradition of a deep commitment to treating each family who comes to us as our own.

Mark Gacek opened the doors of the Dracut Funeral Home in 1985 after closing the original location of “The Gacek Funeral Home” on Bridge Street in Lowell, MA. Their reputation for providing the highest quality of service grew, and they were honored and privileged to serve more families each year.

In 2020, Mark and Janet Gacek made the decision to transfer the ownership of Dracut Funeral Home, and they reached out to Paul A. Hardy, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer Lebaropoulos Hardy. Mark and Janet believed that Paul and Jennifer were the right people to uphold and carry on the traditions that they cherished and that they would continue to provide the excellent care and service that the families of Dracut Funeral Home have come to expect in their time of need.

A word from Paul Hardy:

My wife, Jennifer, and I have owned Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home in Chelmsford since 2010 and we are honored and humbled to have been entrusted to carry on the legacy of the Gacek family. Together with our very dedicated team, we will offer you the same level of high quality and distinguished service that we have always provided to families at our Chelmsford location and that you have come to expect from Dracut Funeral Home. We are proud to be part of this wonderful community.

As we continue to grow, we have made improvements to better serve our families while maintaining a warm and inviting atmosphere.  In addition to the town of Dracut, we are honored to serve the surrounding communities including Lowell, Tyngsboro, North Chelmsford, Chelmsford and Pelham, NH.  We are grateful for the trust that families place in us and will continually strive to provide the highest level of compassion and care to each family.
