HUDSON, NH - Barbara (Wojcik) Picard, 72, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29thafter a five year battle with cancer, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Picard who passed away in 1976.
Barbara was born on February 22, 1948, daughter of the late Carol (Gingras) and Walter Wojcik.
Prior to her retirement, she worked for many years as an au père for Matt and Bettina and their three children: Sam, Tobin and Alex. Bettina was very special to Barbara and without Bettina’s love, support and guidance, the fight against cancer would have been much more difficult. We thank Bettina for all she has done for our mom.
Barbara was the best mom and gram to her family. She loved to cook and enjoyed planning family parties. She was known for her unselfish, kind and caring nature to always put others needs before her own. She was brave and strong in her fight against cancer. She always made the nurses at the Norris Cotton Cancer Center smile when she showed up with a basket of chocolates and muffins to help make their day special. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. God has one of his angels back.
We, her family, would like to especially thank all the doctors and nurses at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center for all they did for her. They always took her care as if they were treating one of their own family members. Their care and kindness helped to ease her pain and ours in her fight against cancer. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the cancer center at this link: https://cancer.dartmouth.edu/donate
