(Boucher) Moran, 88, died Saturday morning, January 11, 2014 at Greenbriar Nursing Home after several months of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Moran. Veronica was born in Lowell on April 9, 1925 and she was lucky enough to share a birth date with her husband and her daughter-in-law, Nancy. She was the daughter of the late Leon and Evelyn (Ducharme) Boucher. She received her education through the Lowell school system and was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1943. She then continued her education and attended Keene State College. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years for Merrimack Optical Co. and also at Pelham Plate Glass and Lumber. She moved with her family to their summer home in Pelham at the height of the depression in 1933 after her father had lost his job because of union organizing activities at Fletchers Quarry in Westford. Although they endured many hardships, she spoke only of happy times during this period. This resilience carried her through her later years when she became totally blind and deaf but she never complained or felt sorry for herself. Together, with her husband, they taught round dancing and was an avid square dancer. She also loved playing bingo until she lost her eye sight. In her words, she had a marvelous life. She is survived by her son, James T. Moran and his wife Nancy; her sister Theresa Straughan; two grandchildren, James T. Moran Jr. and Justin D. Moran, all of Pelham, NH; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son John F. "Jack" Moran Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, on Monday, January 13th from 5 until 7 PM. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, January 14th at 9 AM followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Patrick Church, Pelham. Interment to follow in Gibson Cemetery, Pelham.
