Christos G. "Chris" Brustas Obituary (1950 - 2025)

Christos G. "Chris" Brustas, 74, a longtime resident of Dracut, went on vacation, as he wished to call his passing, on June 4, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on September 27, 1950, Chris was one of three children of the late George and Anne (Skadis) Brustas. He was a graduate of Lowell High School and a distinguished member of the undefeated Football Champions of the class of 1968. Chris worked at Raytheon in Andover for 35 years as Foreman in the Environmental Lab. He loved working on cars, trucks, and motorcycles. He adored his '83 Mercedes and his '64 Corvette. He lost his car in '95 to a house fire. Chris treasured his time with family and friends, especially taking trips to Laconia, NH, with his brother Lewis. Thirsty Thursdays was a weekly ritual. Many memories were made when fishing with his boys, Conor and Michael. Trips to Florida to visit family and friends were high on the list, as well as any beachy destination brought him joy. In addition to his loving wife of 43 years, Debbie (Sawtelle), Chris is survived by his son, Michael Begley of Nashua, NH; sister Harriet and Russ DeCarteret of Dracut; brother, Lewis and Nancy Brustas of Dracut and their four sons: Christopher and his partner Eric Si of Hudson, NH, Michael and his wife Sara and their daughters Mya and Stella, Patrick and his fiancee Jill, and Alex and Kelsey and their daughter Ariah. Chris was predeceased by his loving son, Conor, and loving nephew, Robert Brooks. Chris will also be missed by Debbie's sisters, Cheryl (Sawtelle) Aguilar and her husband Daniel of Stuart, FL, and Linda (Sawtelle) Kossin and her husband Jurgen of Hayesville NC; as well as his niece, Danielle Armstrong and her fiance Jamie Smith and her son Jake of Hayesville, NC. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 4 pm to 7 pm at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 11:30 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, LOWELL. Please feel free to wear color as Chris did not like black.
