Christos “Chris” P. Apostolakos Obituary (1940 - 2025)

In Loving Memory of Christos Chris P. Apostolakos It is with great love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christos P. Apostolakos, who left us peacefully on April 10th 2025, surrounded by his family. Chris was the son of the late Peter C. and Antoinette (Martakos) Apostolakos. A proud graduate of Lowell High School, Chris began his professional journey in retail before honoring his fathers final wish, that he pursue a college education. He enrolled at Bentley University, where he earned a degree in Finance in 1967. That milestone launched a fulfilling career in corporate America, working as a Financial Analyst at Polaroid until his retirement. Off the clock, he kept busy working in the yard, embarking on DIY tasks around the house and tinkering on his cars. Whether he was on the basketball court, playing tennis or taking those annual ski trips with family and friends, he enjoyed both the competition and the camaraderie. Summers were sacred, and the Cape was where his spirit truly thrived. Family vacations on Cape Cod, especially at Johns Pond, were the stuff of memories, endless days on the lake water skiing, tubing, and his favorite pastime: fishing with his family and friends. Those moments sparked a dream that would become a second chapter of his life. After retiring, he and his beloved wife moved full-time to the Cape, where he graduated to a larger boat and launched a charter fishing business. All summer long his boat was moored in Green Pond and was in clear view from the Great Room in his house, a dream come true. As Captain, he introduced his children and grandchildren to the joys of the Vineyard Sound, Washburn Island, Marthas Vineyard, and especially Lake Tashmoo, places that became treasured family havens. Bursting through Green Pond Harbor at full throttle was more than just a thrill, it was a tradition. When the time came to donate the boat, he embraced a quieter rhythm. He enjoyed sudoku, cheering on his favorite sports teams, and, most importantly, cherishing every moment with his growing family by the shore. He was the number one fan of his grandchildrens sports teams and academic accomplishments. Chris was a man of integrity, warmth, and quiet strength. His legacy lives on in the stories we share, the waters we navigate, and the love we carry forward. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carole A. (Sadowski) Apostolakos, his daughter Tanya A. Vecchi and her husband Jeffrey of West Newbury, MA; his son Phillip C. Apostolakos and his wife Nicole of San Marcos, CA; four grandchildren: Nicholas Vecchi, Ava Vecchi, Sophia Apostolakos and Lilly Apostolakos; his sister Patricia Mahoney and his late brother Paul Lakos; as well as his nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and many dear friends, all of whom will continue to feel his presence in every sunset over the water and every fish that gets away. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 10am to 11am at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. His Funeral Service will follow his visitation at 11am in the Funeral Home. Interment will be held privately.
