Filiph Caloggero Obituary (1937

Filiph Caloggero, 83, a resident of Dracut passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 18, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Doris M. (Roussell) Caloggero with whom he shared almost 63 years of marriage. He was born on April 16, 1937, the son of the late Antonio and Martha (Fulco) Caloggero. Filiph grew up in the Boston Area and proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean War. In addition to his loving wife Doris, Filiph leaves his four children; Gayle Hannigan and her husband Robert, Donna von Gunten and her husband Roland, Cindy Paquette and her husband Ray, and Joey Caloggero and his wife Peggy; a brother, Tony Caloggero, and a sister, Gloria Peretti; six grandchildren, Jennifer Koch, Michael Paquette, Chelsea Paquette, and Rachel Paquette, Michele von Gunten, and Devin von Gunten, and three great grandchildren; Chloe, Parker, and Colton Koch. He is predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Martha Caloggero; a brother, John Caloggero and his sister, Rita Caloggero. The 63 years of love between Filiph and Doris was strong and shared by the entire family. In his last weeks, he relished family visits and expressed his love by holding hands. That is the love Doris, and the family felt every day. For Filiph, family was first and foremost. Holiday events were extra special when he would walk in with a smile that lit up the room and a bottle of wine to be shared by all. He will be remembered during these events for enjoying his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren especially his great grandson Parker with whom he had a special connection. Filiph and Doris enjoyed vacations such as taking casino trips to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and more recently, Foxwood and Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. He enjoyed bowling as well as walking along the Boulevard on the Merrimack River with his longtime friends. Many will also remember seeing his smile when he worked the polls during elections in Dracut where he loved to volunteer his time and see old friends and friends of his children. He was an avid sports fan and passed on his love for the Patriots and Red Sox to his family. Over the years, the family was able to attend and watch many football and baseball games with him, highlighted by attending the Patriots first Super Bowl Championship in New Orleans with his son Joey. Due to gathering limitations, Funeral Services will be held privately. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date when safe to gather.
