CHELMSFORD- Francis J. Kurpis, 95, passed away at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford. He was the beloved husband of the late Doris C. (Regan) Kurpis.
Francis was born in Lowell, on December 14, 1923, a son of the late Anthony J. Kurpis and Agnes Kurpis. He was a graduate of Lowell High School. Upon his graduation, Francis enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country proudly during WWII, until being honorable discharged in 1946.
He worked as a Supervisor at the Hanscom Air Force Base until his retirement. He was a Past Commander of the P.A.V. in Lowell. He also enjoyed using his hands, doing woodworking and carpentry. He enjoyed making numerous things including, tables and bar stools.
Francis is survived by his children: Anthony Kurpis of Dracut, Donald Kurpis of Chelmsford and his daughter Judy and her husband Roderick Houle of Tyngsboro. Francis also leaves his 5 Grandchildren: Anthony T.J. Kurpis and his wife Carol, Jillian Mayne, Amy Palmer, Caitlin Houle and Kyle Kurpis and his 6 Great-Grandchildren.
He was pre-deceased by Mildred Buchanan, who passed away in January 2019.
ARRANGEMENTS: A private graveside service will be held on October 4th at 11AM.
